Danish label Multiplex arises after two decades with new release

The nineties label Multiplex just last year announced their comeback after 20 years, this April releasing Push, its very first output since 1998.

The Danish techno and house label with founder Steen ‘Kong’ Mogensen and Cai Bojsen-Møller, accomplished quite some releases during their working days, releasing 26 vinyl records and 6 CD albums between 1995 and ’98. Despite achieving this much for such a short period of time, the label decided to draw back from the music business. Mogensen has now teamed up with fellow Copenhagen DJ and promoter Daniel Kaarill to reboot the label.

The first output includes a two-track EP which picks up back when the label left off in 1998, both tracks being pulled from the original DAT tapes and given a fresh rework by the artists. The first track is Mark Broom’s iconic 1997 remix of the Morgan Geist track “Pushed,” and the second track is Kong’s remix of the CH Connection 1995 track “Push Me.”
