The Hamburg-based duo Space Drum Meditation comprised of Eddie Ness and Liem have surfaced into the scene in 2018 via their self-titled label, with a sound they describe as “twisted, healing, dark, enlightening,” down “for the darker shades of helter-skelter riddims that’ll take you into a new dimension of floating still driving percussive realms”
For this week’s Orb Podcast, Space Drum Meditation explain to us the story behind their mix: “Our intention behind this mix was to create an intense listening experience soaking the listener into a cinematic travel within his own mind. Setting the soundtrack for a trip to explore and connect. Creating a bridge between ritual drums, ancient instruments, and modern electronic influences.”
They continue: “As there is no more spiritual strength, no more spiritual thoughts, our goal was to reconnect with the depth of our subconscious. Therefore when selecting the tracks we‘ve been tapping into our deepest feelings. Looking for what felt momentous within this context. If with this mix we aim to achieve anything, it’s to deliver people from the limited ways from which they see and feel.”
