Orb Podcast 015: Zero Cult

Zero Cult started as a project in 2003 by Emil Ilyayev from Israel, originally influenced from the new sound of downtempo and chill out music in the underground scene. Zero Cult has been producing electronic music for more than a decade, characterised with a unique sound that incorporates mysterious melodies, vibes, and downtempo beats.

Merging wisely designed textures with surreal atmospheres that constantly follow a solid rhythmic structure, Zero Cult’s discography contains numerous well-known works. He has released eight of his full-length albums through Cosmicleaf Records, including his first album, Art Of Harmony, which was labelled as one of the best chill albums of 2006, and his last one, Closer Than Ever, in 2016. Other works include singles, EPs and compilations also released on Cosmicleaf Records and other labels such as Altar Records, Yellow Sunshine Explosion, and more.

For this week’s Orb podcast, Zero Cult delivers a 60-minute mix consisting of only his material through the years, designed with deep textures, surreal atmospheres and soothing rhythms.
